Philanthropy

We are very grateful for the support we receive from generous philanthropists – whether individuals, trusts, senior volunteers or committee members – who play an invaluable part in our fight for young lives against cancer.

Young Lives vs Cancer relies almost entirely on voluntary donations to fund our work and we give all of our support to families for free.

Individuals and Trusts who donate significant gifts are essential to making sure we can help children and young people with cancer, and their families, find the strength to face everything cancer throws at them. Every day 12 more children and young people hear the devastating news they have cancer. We’ll face it all together – but we can’t do it without you.

The difference you make

As one of our most valued supporters, you’ll be at the very heart of making sure a future exists where all children and young people with cancer, and their families, receive the support they need.

We’ll work alongside you to ensure that your philanthropic objectives for supporting Young Lives vs Cancer are realised and you can experience the difference your gift is making. We pride ourselves on providing bespoke support to those committing to us on such a significant level, to make sure donating to Young Lives vs Cancer continues to be a motivating and fulfilling experience.

Charitable Trusts and Foundations

The support of trusts and foundations is crucial to Young Lives vs Cancer’s work. We’re dedicated to working closely with trusts and foundations to fulfil our shared charitable endeavours, and we’ll take care of all the practicalities – whether it’s finding an appropriate project that fits with your objectives and interests, providing a progress report or arranging a personal visit to see our services.

Projects supported by trust funding

The Masonic Charitable Foundation have kindly been part-funding a Young Lives vs Cancer Social Worker based at Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge since 2021.

The Masonic Charitable Foundation is committed to helping vulnerable children and young people have the best chance in life. A cancer diagnosis can be a scary and isolating experience for anyone, at any age, but for a child or young person it can have a significant impact on their education, social development and future prospects. We have been delighted to support a Young Lives vs Cancer Social Worker at Addenbrooke’s who has offered much need emotional and practical support to children and their families and helped to reduce the damaging impact that cancer has on their lives.

The McClay Foundation has been generously supporting our No Place Like Home programme in Northern Ireland.

One of The McClay Foundation’s strategic goals is to support projects and organisations which seek to provide quality of life, positive outcomes and experiences to those who have been diagnosed with cancer, thus affording dignity and compassion to patients and their families. The McClay Foundation is delighted to partner with Young Lives vs Cancer (and formerly CLIC Sargent) in its work, in particular supporting Paul’s House and Amy’s House and the vital work of these houses as they provide homes away from home for young people and their families during periods of treatment.
