About us

What we do

Today, 12 children and young people will hear the news that they have cancer. In an instant, their whole world can feel like it’s turned upside down.

Young Lives vs Cancer is the only charity in the UK with Specialist Social Workers who provide tailored support to children and young people with cancer, and their families.

They work in all the main children’s cancer hospitals [around the UK]. They work closely with doctors, nurses and other NHS professionals as an integral part of the team caring for children with cancer.

When a child or young person is going through cancer treatment, our Homes from Home are a free place for families to stay. This allows families to stay close to the hospital, while a child or young person is receiving treatment and offers a welcoming space to cook a meal or just hang out together.
