The ‘Borders Ultra Challenge’ takes Series into Scotland. A new ‘double’ marathon format, and single marathon & 10 mile options – to take on at your pace as a walk, jog or run – and fundraise for your favourite charity! From a start in historic Berwick-Upon-Tweed, in England the 84km route heads onto to the Berwickshire Coastal Path to Emouth, St Abb’s Head, and a welcome halfway stop at the marathon distance. Up to Dunbar and inland to the welcome finish line in the delightful seaside town of North Berwick. Join as an individual or as a team; you’ll get full support all the way, plenty of food & drink, a special medal, T shirt & celebration finish, and a great sense of achievement! Push yourself further in 2027 – take on an Ultra Challenge!

Berwick on Tweed > N Berwick - 84 km over 2 days (see the route in ‘daylight’) with optional camping packages at half way (42 km) – or book a hotel / B&B – and rest!
- 42 km marathon Berwick on Tweed > Marly Brae
- 42 km Basecamp
> North Berwick
- North Berwick 10 Miles
There are 2 payment options to choose from:
1. Charity Sponsorship – you pay a small registration fee, do lots of fundraising and the charity covers the cost of your event place. As an Associate Partner, you receive 50% off the standard registration fee as part of the Early Bird offer.
- Double Marathon 84km: £25 registration fee / £575 fundraising target
- Marathon 42km: £20 registration fee / £375 fundraising target
- 10 Mile Challenge: £7.50 registration fee / £150 fundraising target
2. Own Place – you pay the full cost of the event place yourself, with no minimum fundraising target. Raise as much as you can for the charity.
- Double Marathon 84km: £199 registration fee / no fundraising target, raise what you can
- Marathon 42km: £139 registration fee / no fundraising target, raise what you can
- 10 Mile Challenge: £55 registration fee / no fundraising target, raise what you can
Your Ultra Challenge entry includes:
- A fully signed route, with a team of ‘Trekmasters’ out on the trail with you
- Regular covered rest stops, with free food & drink, massages and medics
- An epic finish line moment, with a glass of fizz, medal and t-shirt
Camping, transfer and parking options are available to make getting there & away easy.

Every day 12 children and young people are diagnosed with cancer. Yet not one of them has the same experience. All young cancer patients have different needs, opportunities and backgrounds and for some, the systems in place and gaps in support mean that their experiences are much more challenging than others. Far too many children and young people with cancer are experiencing inequality as soon as they are diagnosed due to a ‘one size fits all’ approach throughout much of the system. That’s why the support they receive must look beyond their diagnosis. It should provide them with what they need, so that they can go on to thrive no matter what. That’s why we exist.
We don’t receive any government funding so everything we do is thanks to amazing people like you. From funding our brilliant Young Lives vs Cancer Social Workers to our vital financial grants, your support means that we can be there for children and young people facing cancer, and their families, to ensure that having a cancer diagnosis doesn’t mean you lose what makes you, you.
