Scamp and Dude
Scamp and Dude joined as one of our corporate partners in July 2021 and the relationship has been going from strength to strength ever since. Young Lives vs Cancer is a charity close to Scamp and Dude founder, Jo’s, heart. In October 2015, Jo suffered a life-threatening brain haemorrhage. She had to leave her two young sons for a lengthy stay in hospital to undergo brain surgery. It was this brush with death and missing her children, that made Jo determined to give back and live a life full of purpose. This inspired the creation of Scamp & Dude – a brand that helps people feel more secure when apart from their loved ones.
The partnership launched with a new range of Scamp and Dude pyjamas for adults and kids, with donations going directly to Young Lives vs Cancer. The ‘Smiley PJs’ were infused with kindness and superpowers – helping children, young people and their families find the strength to face whatever cancer throws at them.
In addition to raising valuable funds for the charity, for every Scamp & Dude Superhero Sleep Buddy (a comforter designed to help children with separation anxiety) and Supercharged Water Bottle sold, Scamp & Dude donate another to Young Lives vs Cancer to include within each Comfort Bag given to families when children are diagnosed with cancer.
The Superhero Sleep Buddy was the first product founder Jo Tutchener-Sharp created and still remains at the heart of Scamp & Dude today. The special comforter has its very own Superpower Button and a cape with a pocket to hold a photograph of whomever the child wants to hold close. The cape also has Scamp & Dude’s ‘a Superhero has my back’ slogan to remind the child that there is someone always looking over them, keeping them safe.
