Signet’s H Samuel and Ernest Jones

Ernest Jones and H Samuel, as part of Signet Jeweller’s, have been in partnership with Young Lives vs Cancer since October 2014. Over the years, they’ve raised over an incredible £1.3million to support children and young people with cancer and their families, and they’re not stopping there!

Not only taking part in fundraising initiatives throughout the year, H Samuel have become part of the Christmas furniture at Young Lives vs Cancer, each year selling an adorable plush toy, with all profits donated to Young Lives vs Cancer.

Thanks to the generosity of Ernest Jones and H Samuel team members and customers, thousands of children and young people with cancer have been able to receive the care and support that they need.

About the partnership

Both staff and customers have been vital in helping to raise this incredible amount. Each year of the partnership H. Samuel, Ernest Jones and Leslie Davis stores nationwide sell adorable plush toys, with all profits donated to Young Live’s vs Cancer. This year, Barnaby the bear is being sold– his name is particularly special as it was voted for by parents supported by Young Live’s vs Cancer. Barnaby is being promoted by Seb and Amelia, two children who have been supported by Young Live’s vs Cancer. Previous plush toys have included George and Jasper the bears, Rufus the dog and Flipper the penguin!

But it’s not just plush toys that have raised this huge amount. Signet staff have also got involved in runs, walks, sweepstakes, skydives and various other events in store. Staff take part in an annual 90 day fundraising challenge over summer, which in 2018 raised an unbelievable £98,000. They have also given up their time to volunteer at Young Live’s vs Cancer’s Home from Homes and have collected an amazing amount of stock for Young Live’s vs Cancer shops too.

For the past year, Signet’s fundraising has gone towards Jean’s House, our new Home from Home in Southampton. To show our appreciation for their support, Signet staff were given the opportunity to choose a name for a room in the home. The team in Ernest Jones Swansea nominated the winning entry, The Sunflower Room, which was then chosen in an all staff poll.
