Peter Hollins steps down as Chair of the Board of Trustees at CLIC Sargent

After five years, Peter Hollins is hanging up his lanyard as Chair of the Board of Trustees at CLIC Sargent, the UK’s leading Children and Young People’s Cancer Charity.  Peter joined the top job at Team CLIC Sargent after a successful career which saw him hold positions as Chief Executive at British Heart Foundation and British Energy, bringing an incredible mix of experience and insight.

Peter said: “Just over five years ago I was approached about the possibility of becoming the Chair of CLIC Sargent and joining the fight against the damage childhood cancer does to families. It has been the most fantastic experience.

“I have met so many inspiring children and young people and their families, as well as some of our amazing volunteers. I have been tremendously proud to be Chair of CLIC Sargent, and will continue to be an enthusiastic supporter.”

Peter will be standing down from the position in September, giving the charity time to appoint his replacement.

Kate Lee, Chief Executive of CLIC Sargent, said: “Peter has been the most amazing Chair, leading with passion and commitment over the last five years, to help create step change for children and young people with cancer across the UK.

“I have learnt so much from him and will miss him greatly, but I am also excited to see what direction the next Chair will take us.”

Recruitment for a new Chair of the Board of Trustees will open on Tuesday 28 May in partnership with Saxton Bampfylde.

Kate said: “The next Chair will join at an exciting time as we launch our new five-year strategy. They will help us drive through our ambitions to be the Government’s trusted partner on issues related to childhood cancer.

“They will ensure that CLIC Sargent remains an incredible place for staff, volunteers and our amazing supporters to work together to fight tirelessly for children, young people and families affected by this horrific disease.”
