New questionnaire asks children with cancer what would make their lives easier

The Tell Us What You Think questionnaire from Young Lives vs Cancer launches this week as part of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.

The short survey, which can be completed in writing or by drawing pictures, asks young cancer patients aged 15 and under how four key areas of their lives could be made easier: being at school or at after school clubs, being in hospital, spending time with friends, and being at home with their families.

The charity will use the responses to advise governments across the UK and the NHS on children’s cancer care, as well as to inform their own work supporting children with cancer and their families. Children who fill out the survey can also be entered into a prize draw to win a £25 Amazon voucher or one of two £15 Amazon vouchers.

Tell Us What You Think was developed with help from children who attend Young Lives vs Cancer’s online Craft & Chat sessions, part of the digital support offered by the charity. The sessions bring children living with cancer together on Zoom to do craft projects and meet other children with similar experiences.

Here’s Craft & Chat group member Zack introducing the questionnaire he helped create.

If you’re under 15 and would like to complete the questionnaire (or you’re a grownup who knows a child who would), it’s available to download here:

When you’re done, please return your questionnaire to voice@younglivesvscancer.org.uk
