Senedd election 2026: Our manifesto
Every year, around 180 children and young people in Wales hear the life-changing words: “You have cancer.” It turns their world upside down — affecting not just their health, but their finances, friendships, family life, and futures. And it doesn’t stop when treatment ends.
Despite this, their voices are often missing from decisions that shape cancer care.
That’s why we’ve created our Senedd 2026 manifesto: Transforming Cancer Care and Support for Children and Young People – our call to prioritise the needs of children and young people with cancer in Wales.
We’re calling on all political parties to commit to:
- A dedicated strategic approach for children and young people with cancer
- A Young Cancer Patient Travel Fund
- Improved experience of diagnosis
- Comprehensive support during and beyond treatment
The time is now to truly transform their experiences, outcomes and futures. Because children and young people with cancer deserve better.

Etholiad y Senedd 2026: Ein maniffesto
Bob blwyddyn, mae tua 180 o blant a phobl ifanc yng Nghymru yn clywed y geiriau a fydd yn newid eu bywydau: “Mae gen ti ganser.” Mae’n troi eu byd wyneb i waered – gan effeithio nid yn unig ar eu hiechyd, ond ar eu cyllid, eu perthynas â’u ffrindiau, eu bywyd teuluol a’u dyfodol. Ac nid yw’n dod i ben pan ddaw’r driniaeth i ben.
Er gwaethaf hyn, mae eu lleisiau’n aml ar goll o benderfyniadau sy’n llywio gofal canser.
Dyna pam rydyn ni wedi creu ein maniffesto ar gyfer Senedd 2026: Trawsnewid Gofal Canser i Blant a Phobl Ifanc – ein galwad i flaenoriaethu anghenion plant a phobl ifanc â chanser yng Nghymru.
Rydym yn galw ar bob plaid wleidyddol i ymrwymo i’r canlynol:
- Dull strategol pwrpasol ar gyfer plant a phobl ifanc â chanser
- Cronfa Deithio i Gleifion Canser Ifanc
- Gwell profiad o gael diagnosis
- Cymorth cynhwysfawr yn ystod ac ar ôl y driniaeth
‘Nawr yw’r amser i fynd ati o ddifri i drawsnewid eu profiadau, eu canlyniadau a’u dyfodol. Oherwydd bod plant a phobl ifanc â chanser yn haeddu gwell.
