Father and son supported by Young Lives vs Cancer star in Ladybird’s Love Unfiltered photo series celebrating parenthood
We are excited to share the news Young Lives vs Cancer has partnered up with Ladybird to celebrate parenthood and share Dad Mark’s story, after his son Harris was diagnosed with cancer.

Dad Mark and his son Harris, beautifully captured by Aliyah Otchere.
Dad Mark and Harris feature in the portrait campaign and photo series that turns the camera on the parent.
Ladybird said: “When you’re a parent, life often revolves around the little human beings you’re raising. Their sleep schedule dictates your sleep schedule. ‘Me time’ becomes their time. We mark their birthdays with cake and candles, but sometimes forget to toast our own milestones.
“So, here at Ladybird, we want to celebrate you: the parents, grandparents, and carers. That’s why, for Summer 2021, we’ve captured 21 real portraits of parenthood in our photo series, Love Unfiltered. Primarily photographed by Aliyah Otchere, with additional international photography by Shirlene Loo and Otavia Smith, the series is accompanied by interviews with each of the families involved.”
Mark, a Chief in the Royal Navy from Plymouth, was supported by Young Lives vs Cancer alongside his family after Harris was diagnosed with Wilms’ Tumour. They stayed in our Bristol Home from Home during Harris’ treatment.
He has shared how he became a parent, from the moment he met his wife to when everything drastically changed with Harris’ diagnosis.
