Jack takes his fundraising to new heights

Jack and his family were supported by Young Lives vs Cancer after he was diagnosed with a brain tumour when he was just a baby. Seven rounds of chemotherapy, proton therapy and becoming registered blind have not stopped Jack from fundraising. He’s taken on the mini North Run, the junior North Run, tombola’s, raffles, bake sales, family fun days, and memory challenges.

16 year-old Jack will be taking to the skies in July and doing his first sky dive. To date, he’s has raised £150,000 for the Young Lives vs Cancer, and is hoping to bring his total to an incredible £200,000 with his latest challenge.

Jack said: “I want to raise money for Young Lives vs Cancer because they helped my family when I was a baby and I want to give back to other young people who aren’t as lucky as I am.

“I am a thrill seeker, and I’ve done a zip wire and I love rollercoasters, so I am taking it to a NEW level!”

Sam Hughes, Fundraising Engagement Manager at Young Lives vs Cancer, said: “Jack is the most incredible young man, who doesn’t let anything stand in his way. He’s done so much to support Young Lives vs Cancer and has already raised huge amounts of money.  I know this latest challenge means a lot to him, and I’m hoping everyone gets behind him and shows their support. Fundraisers like Jack make it possible for us to be there for other children and young people with cancer, and we can’t thank him enough.”

Jack’s skydive is taking place on 20th July, his JustGiving fundraising page can be found HERE
