Fundraising Zone

Welcome to the team! Now you’re signed up to take on an event, it’s time to kick start your fundraising! We’re here to support you every step of the way.
How to get started
- Create your JustGiving page so you have a place to raise money and share updates.
- Make a plan. How will you share the ups and downs of your training to keep the donations rolling in? Could you organise fundraising events to add some fun?
- Set a fundraising target. Pages with targets always raise more.
- Take photos. Create videos. Make content which reminds your network what you are doing and why you are supporting Young Lives vs Cancer.

Top tips to help you smash your target
- Let people know how their donations will help young cancer patients
- Share!Share!Share! Post regular updates. Download our social media shareables to make your posts shine!
- On the day of your event, post regularly. This will boost donations.
- Update and thank everyone afterwards. 20% of donations typically come in after an event.

Need to change your plans?
No longer able to take part in your event? We totally understand. Things come up, life happens, injuries get in the way. Here’s what to do next:
Always seek medical advice for injuries. Your GP or physio will be able to advise on whether it’s best for you to take part or not. They will work out your next steps for recovery. Our Training Zone has training plans, tips and exercises as well as details about how to contact our physio for free advice.
Let us know! Some of our events have waiting lists, which means we should be able to give the place to someone else if we have enough notice.
