Volunteering alongside our dynamic and driven Bristol and Hammersmith based teams has never been more exciting as we re-emerge to in person teams. They are working hard on key projects, exciting innovation and getting stuff done. Joining them means being part of something special.
Right now, we’ll only be advertising roles here that absolutely cannot be done from home. For the roles where we invite you into one of our locations, we will provide full training and support to ensure that you feel safe and confident in your volunteering environment and you can be assured that we are following all the necessary steps to keep our locations COVID safe.

Have you ever sold items on an online listing site and do you have a flair for spotting unusual or interesting items that would catch someone’s eye?
Can you list items in an appealing and fun way and take photos that show them in the best possible way? Or maybe you just know that this is something you would be really good at because of the skills and talents you have!
If so, we would love you to become part of the busy and creative team helping to continue the success of our award winning eBay shop.
You will be developing your IT and online retail skills whilst being a key part of our fun and friendly team. You will grow in confidence and have the opportunity to take on further responsibility.
What you’ll be doing
- Researching donated goods to understand their eBay value
- Creating appealing and creative auction listings to maximize the overall funds we can raise from interested bidders
- Photographing pre-sorted items to display online
You will need some basic IT skills, have a keen eye for detail and enjoy being part of team.
This role is very flexible and is based in our warehouse in Filton BS34 7JU. We need you to volunteer sometime between the hours of 9am and 4pm Monday to Friday. Exact days and times can be flexible to fit around any other commitments you may have. To apply, please fill in the form below.
We would love for you to join the Supporter Engagement Team (SET)! As a SET Volunteer you will be a part of our friendly and fast-paced team where no day is the same. So, get ready, SET, go!
We are on the frontline, so speak to many wonderful people every day, these may be donors or supporters, service users or those seeking our support, or the general public interested in our work. This is the ideal role for you if you enjoy communicating with a wide range of people and being part of a busy and friendly team. Providing excellent customer service is at the heart of what we do as a team and we would love you to help us make a difference. You will have the opportunity to grow in confidence and develop skills in administration, fundraising and customer service as you deal with enquiries and collaborate with the team in providing the best possible assistance.
What will you be doing?
· Love to chat? We do! And so do our amazing supporters who come to us with a variety of wonderful enquiries. They may ask you to take a donation, support them with their fundraising or help them to organise an event.
· If talking is not your type of thing… then you can help us with web chat, emails, sending letters and using social media which will help us provide the ultimate #TeamYoungLives experience!
· Giving our new supporters, who have signed up for a regular donation through one of our fundraisers, a warm welcome. You may have seen our wonderful street fundraisers out and about.
· Volunteers are incredibly important to us! You can help us reach more fabulous people like yourself! Be an advocate for volunteering at Young Lives vs Cancer and support others interested in volunteering. You may be communicating with potential volunteers, welcoming new volunteers to the charity and sending out welcome packs.
· We are One Team! We don’t just support our supporters but also the rest of Young Lives vs Cancer. You could be offering support to other teams within the charity if and when necessary
You will be organised and methodical and be keen to learn new processes and have good written and verbal communication skills. If you have some basic IT skills that would be great although we will provide training so you are fully equipped for your role and if you have some experience in a customer service role that would be amazing.

We are looking for volunteers who can commit 1-2 days per week during office hours of 9am-5pm, Monday to Friday and can be flexible to fit in with your other commitments. You will need to be within travelling distance of our Bristol (BS1 2NT) office where this role will be based.
We will provide full training for the role and the support of a dedicated Volunteer Manager.

We’re the team who wants to make our supporters feel extra special when they take on an event for us. We’ll give them a call, send them some exciting post and generally make sure they feel as incredible as they are for raising money for Young Lives vs Cancer. By becoming a Fundraising Events Volunteer, you’ll be part of a team delivering the best possible stewardship for our supporters, giving them a truly legendary experience.
This is the ideal role for you if you enjoy communicating with a wide range of people and being part of a busy and friendly team. You will have the opportunity to grow in confidence and develop skills in administration and fundraising as you deal with enquiries and collaborate with the team in providing the best possible support to our amazing fundraisers.
What will you be doing?
- Who doesn’t love a special bit of post? Our fundraisers certainly do, and you’ll be helping to write and send out good luck and thank you cards to our lovely supporters and event participants to make sure they know just how awesome they are (in case you were wondering, that’s pretty awesome!)
- Prepping and posting fundraising packs. Think Santa and his elves: we need the ultimate workforce to make sure every fundraiser has all the kit and caboodle they need to be the BEST they possibly can be.
- Feel like picking up the phone and getting to chat to our fundraisers? Great! We’ll start you off wishing our fundraisers the best of luck for their events and making sure they have all they need for their big day, and if you’re loving catching up with #TeamYoungLives you’ll also have the opportunity to grow in this area and speak to a wide variety of our supporters – every call is different, so you’ll never have to worry about being bored!
- JustGiving is a fundraiser’s best friend, and every week our amazing supporters blow us away with their epic ideas. Every challenge requires slightly different support, so it’s really important to make sure all our fundraisers’ plans are properly recorded on our system. You’ll be checking their pages to find out what they’re up to and when, and making sure we can give them the best possible experience.
- Our inboxes are full of fundraisers with burning questions and amazing ideas, and you’ll be helping us stay up-to-date and making sure they find what they’re looking for.
- Facebook Fundraising is where it’s at right now! It’s one of the fastest growing fundraising platforms, and we’re very lucky to have loads of amazing supporters who are utilising social media to fundraise for us. You’ll get to find out what they’re up to, and give them a warm welcome to Young Lives vs Cancer.
