Young Lives vs Cancer teams up with Made in Chelsea’s Louise Thompson to launch Depop Shop

The UK’s leading cancer charity for children and young people, Young Lives vs Cancer, has teamed up with Made in Chelsea star Louise Thompson to launch a Depop shop.

The charity’s new Depop shop went live today [Wednesday 23 June] on the fashion marketplace app and adds to the charity’s current e-commerce offering, which includes an Ebay shop and an online shop. The Depop shop has been curated by Louise Thompson, with the first 23 pieces all taken directly from Louise’s wardrobe. Pieces include YSL loafers, a De La Vali dress and Ralph Lauren shirt.

The Depop shop will reach a new audience of young people passionate about pre-loved fashion, who will be able to shop more sustainably, all while supporting children and young people with cancer. The launch of a Depop shop also comes in response to the Covid-19 pandemic and the huge impact it has had on the charity’s funding. Young Lives vs Cancer is now facing a £9m income loss, after the closure of its retail stores during national lockdowns and the cancellation of many fundraising events.

Young Lives vs Cancer Trading General Manager, Jason Webster, said:

“Over the past year, due to the Covid-19 pandemic and the enforced closure of our retail shops due to lockdown the charity’s income from shops alone decreased by around £1.5 million. By shopping at the Young Lives vs Cancer Depop shop you will help the charity recover from the impact of the pandemic and continue to be there for young people and their families facing cancer, who need us now more than ever before.”
