Morrisons makes it £6 million so far
Colleagues and customers at Morrisons have reached the staggering milestone of £6 million raised just 20 months into the partnership. It means they are averaging £10,000 a day and are on course to smash the increased £10 million target by February 2020.

Joanna Hancock, Head of Corporate Partnerships at CLIC Sargent, said: “Our cause has really resonated with colleagues across Morrisons who have showed unprecedented commitment to raising money for us as charity partner.
“The money raised is having a massive impact on our ability to support more families who need us. We are now into the second half of the partnership and need to continue to engage and motivate colleagues to ensure we meet our new target.”
The money raised through our partnership with Morrisons has already helped thousands of families cope with the devastating impacts of a cancer diagnosis. We have handed out more than 4000 grants, created a brand new grant for those in real financial hardship, and funded an overhaul of our digital services (including our snazzy new website!).
People on the ground
On top of all of this, Morrisons is funding people on the ground who are changing the cancer experience for young people.
Hannah Dear teachingA team of three Nurse Educators has been recruited to bring cancer expertise to community hospital teams. They have already trained 474 nurses and doctors to give safe and confident cancer care closer to patients’ homes.
And for the very first time, CLIC Sargent can support families who speak Welsh, in their first language. A Digital Social Worker for North Wales is now in post, with the potential to help dozens of families in the region.
If you happen to be in your local Morrisons, please do thank staff there on behalf of everyone at CLIC Sargent.
